2018 Annual Auditions

The following information is for singers interested in auditioning for Longwood Opera.

If we hear you at the BostonSingersResource auditions we will contact you if we need to hear you again.

Longwood Opera will be holding annual auditions for local, Boston based singers only in at
Christ Episcopal Church, 1132 Highland Avenue, Needham on:

- Saturday May 5 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm
- Sunday, May 6 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm

We will be auditioning singers for our annual July & August Tues evening summer concert series
and our November 3 & 5 production, which is fully costumed, staged and performed in English.
We are considering three options for our November production:
Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld
Strauss' Die Fledermaus, or
Verdi's La Traviata.

If you would like to obtain an audition time, send your current resume, photo and a cover letter to:
Longwood Opera, 42 Hawthorn Avenue, Needham, MA, 02492.

In your cover letter state your preferred date & time to be heard and an e-mail contact.
We will do our best to accommodate your request.
Also let us know what productions and roles for which you would like to be considered.
We will let you know by April 30th the day and time of your audition.
Resumes received after April 30th will not be considered

Bring three selections (one should be in English and can be a translation).
Because of time constraints we may only be able to listen to one selection.
An accompanist will be provided, but you may bring your own

Longwood Opera is pleased to present a new, unique production of Offenbach's classic opera,
sung in a new English translation, fully costumed and staged.

The Charles River Ballet Academy will join us again to perform the famous CanCan
that Offenbach wrote for this show.
