 Three boys guide Tamino and Papageno to Sarastro's realm.  Tamino and Papageno have been separated, so it's Papageno who first see Pamina. She's being threatened by slaves under the orders of Monastatos, a resident of Sarastro's realm.  They talk about love and marriage: She wants a prince; he wants a girl like himself. Eventually, he brings her to meet Tamino.
